The multi-purpose facility, which opened in 1995, can seat up to 66,053. St. Louis•a true sports town hungry for football and anything else that comes around. Part of a massive convention center complex in downtown St. Louis, the Edward Jones Dome was designed to host a variety of events. Views of the field are good from almost everywhere in the stands, and getting around the place is a snap. Concessions offer a local flavor, with various ethnic favorites reflecting the city's diverse population.
Parking
The Dome offers parking only for season ticketholders. There are, however, lots with spaces for 25,000 cars within a 10-block radius; prices range from $5-$7 dollars.
Weather
The Dome is comfortable in any weather. Since it was built to accommodate a wide variety of events, climate control is adjustable to virtually any condition or crowd size. Remember, though, that St. Louis winters can be brutal, so bundle up for your trip to and from the game.
Concessions
Because the Dome is a multi-purpose exhibition hall and part of a massive convention center accustomed to feeding huge numbers of people hungry after dozing through trade shows, the food here is better than average, and in some cases flat-out terrific. Along with traditional stadium fare•hot dogs, popcorn, nachos•the Dome offers such local specialties as toasted ravioli, meatball heros, gyros, and barbecued just about anything.
Since St. Louis is the headquarters of beer giant Anheuser-Busch, a full range of their products are available. There is also a microbrewery with more esoteric choices (Alcohol rules may change for college games).
Directions
From Lambert St. Louis International Airport:
Approximately 13 miles southeast of the airport. Take I-70 East to Broadway exit. Broadway (one-way south) to Washington Avenue. Broadway Central entrance to the Dome will be located in the center of the block between entries C and B.
