The sun always seems to shine on Cardinals Stadium, the only NFL arena on a college campus. It's a dry heat, but the fans roasting in the stands for August pre-season games are not usually cheered up by the lack of humidity. Temperatures have climbed as high as 122 degrees, and it's worse on the field. Most regular season games are played in the hottest part of the day—1pm in September and early October, and 2pm the rest of the season.
Parking
Even though only 3,500 spaces are around the stadium, parking is ample. Another 10,000 spots are less than a mile from the stadium, and the school's band practice fields are also used. Many regular fans consider the $5 lot across Rio Salado from the stadium the premium spot at the best price. In addition, many fans park in the downtown Tempe area only a few blocks away and walk to the game.
Weather
Fans at Miami's Joe Robbie Stadium might argue, but Cardinals Stadium is the sporting worlds best tanning salon. You can catch the best rays in the East stands. Just make sure you bring plenty of sunblock. Stadium officials are well-prepared to handle those who bake too long. The medical staff is the largest in the league: Seven paramedic teams are inside the stadium, a force that includes six physicians and six nurses.
