Raymond James Stadium, located in Tampa, Florida, is the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the South Florida Bulldogs. It is recognized as one of the better stadiums the NFL has. Opened in September of 1998, Raymond James Stadium has a seating capacity of 66,000 and can be expanded to accommodate 75,000 attendees. For Super Bowl XXXV, the attendance was over 71,000.
Besides hosting the college football’s Outback Bowl, “The New Sombrero” is also a great location to host the NFL’s Super Bowl. Raymond James Stadium has already featured one Super Bowl and is preparing to host Super Bowl XLIII in February of 2009.
Some of the features of Raymond James Stadium include 103-foot replica pirate ship that fires its cannons when the Buccaneers score. It also has two 92-foot video screens, giving fans the opportunity to watch a play they may have missed. These two features add a great deal to the fan experience, as does their attention to detail when it comes to concession stands, highlighted by Buccaneer Cove.
Buccaneer Cove has the look and feel of older fishing village and contains all types of concessions and memorabilia stands. Overall, the stadium features over 600 various concessions, giving even the busiest of tourists’ ample fodder to keep their attention.
Weather
On an average Sunday afternoon in October the place turns into the world's largest sauna. On special occasions, it throws in lightning. Tampa's average winter tempaerature averages 60°F in winter with the rainy season running from June through the end of November.
