Dolphin Stadium is a football, lacrosse, soccer, and baseball stadium located in Miami Gardens, Florida. The stadium is home to both the Florida Marlins and the Miami Dolphins. It has already hosted two World Series and four Super Bowls since its opening and it is scheduled to host the 2010 Super Bowl as well.
Dolphin Stadium was the first stadium to be constructed with private funds. Joe Robbie led the financing to build Joe Robbie Stadium for the Miami Dolphins. JRS revolutionized sports when it opened in 1987. This facility is still used as a model today for new stadiums across the country. The Club Level and Executive Suites helped finance the construction as season ticket holders committed to long term agreements and in return received first class amenities in a revolutionary sports facility.
Dolphin Stadium has been home to the Miami Dolphins since 1987 and the Florida Marlins since 1993. It has also been home to the FedEx Orange Bowl game since 1996, except for the 1999 game between Florida and Syracuse which was moved due to a Dolphins playoff game. In addition to sporting events the stadium also hosts concerts like U2, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and more. The stadium also hosts soccer matches, Monster Truck shows, Hoop-It-Up basketball, RV and boat shows, the UniverSoul Circus, and Australian Rules football exhibition matches, and many trade shows.
The stadium had $100 million in renovations to accommodate the Florida Marlins before the 1993 season. The installation of retractable seating on the north side of the stadium, the construction of the baseball press box, the building of the baseball dugouts, the addition of 660 new lights for night play, and the installation of a hydraulic disappearing pitcher's mound were added. The stadium's seating capacity has been reduced to 36,500 by covering the 400 section; however during the World Series the 400 seats are uncovered giving the Marlins an average attendance of over 66,000 for the seven home games.
The field of play is larger in Dolphin Stadium than in most baseball stadiums due to having to fit a football field in the stadium. In April of 2006 it was announced that the "s" would be dropped from the stadium name and revert back to the original "Dolphin Stadium" name along with a new logo. This is part of their national branding campaign that ended with Super Bowl XLI.

Weather
Hot and humid, and the summer comes. In south Florida, early spring is perfect and fall is very nice. But June, July, and August get very steamy. The Marlins play very few day games in the summer. Florida also gets lots of rain so always come to the park prepared.
Concessions
Excellent variety, including several tasty dishes that reflect the Latin influence in South Florida
Reflecting New York's influence in Miami, a fully kosher concessions stand sits behind home plate.
Parking
The parking lot was built to accomodate crowds of 70,000 plus for football, so it handles the baseball crowds easily. It's probably the best in the National League. Spaces are available for 23,000 cars, 254 buses, and a helicopter. With crowds of 35,000 plus, getting out of the lot can take a long time.
