Minute Maid Park is a stadium in Houston, Texas that opened in 2000 as the home of the Houston Astros. The ballpark was Houston's first retractable roofed stadium. It features a grass field and its largest entrance is inside what was once Houston's Union Station. The left field side of the stadium features a train as homage to the site's history. The train moves along a track on top of the length of the exterior wall whenever an Astros player hits a home run or when the Astros win a game. The tender of the train that is usually filled with coal is filled with giant oranges in tribute to Minute Maid's most famous product, orange juice.
Minute Maid Park has hosted many major events over the years including the 2004 Major League Baseball All-Star game, the longest postseason game in MLB history in terms of time and number of innings on October 9, 2005-the game lasted 18 innings and took five hours and 50 minutes to play, and on October 25, 2005 it hosted the first World Series game ever played in Texas!

Weather
Whereas Colt Stadium was "too hot" and the Astrodome was "too dark," Minute Maid Park is "just right," easily adapting to changing weather conditions at the flick of a switch. The retractible-roof keeps out the hot, humid, mosquito-infested air, while still giving fans (at least those on the first base side) a view of the Houston skyline.
Concessions
Minute Maid Park offers food and beverages throughout the ballpark at concession stands and carts by ARAMARK Sports & Entertainment. The ballpark has hot dogs, chicken tenders, steak dogs, bubba burgers, sausages, fries, smaller meals for children as well as smaller and more healthy options for children, bistro-style sandwiches, Panini, salads, pretzels, popcorn, peanuts, pizza, BBQ sandwiches, BBQ potatoes, ice cream sundaes, bratwurst, jalapeno sausages, Polish sausages, kosher dogs, veggie dogs, hand dipped ice cream, soft serve ice cream, value meals, wings, burgers, beer, frozen drinks, and more!
Parking
If you plan ahead you can find a parking space in downtown Houston rather easily and inexpensively. Minute Maid Park is a short walk from most of Houston's downtown garages and surface parking lots.
