In 1996, the City of Cleveland and the NFL secured a deal to return the Browns to Cleveland by 1999. On May 15, 1997, construction on a new stadium began on the same site that Cleveland Municipal Stadium sat. Construction was completed in September of 1999. and the stadium was named Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Over 73,200 orange seats are located at the stadium. Two three-tier grandstands are located on both sides of the gridiron. A section of 10,000 bleacher seats, known as the "Dog Pound", are located at the east end of the stadium. Additional seating is located behind each endzone. Two scoreboard/video-boards are located beyond the seating area behind the endzones. Architectural gaps in the seating bowl at Cleveland Browns Stadium at the Southeast and Southwest entrance plazas allow visitors to view the field and the inside of the Stadium even when the Browns are not playing.

Excellent views of downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie can also be seen from the stadium. Several amenities are located at Cleveland Browns Stadium including the Browns Hall of Fame, team store, and The Grille and Sports Bar.

Weather
Cleveland's climate is largely influenced by Lake Erie: It's cooler in summer and more moderate in winter. When breezes blow from the lake, temperatures stay comfortable. The best times to visit are late spring and September and October.

Concessions
The Browns have plenty of foods and snacks on the menu at Cleveland Brown Stadium, ranging from standard fare such as hot dogs, and beer, to Caesar salad and Evian water. With 41 permanent concession stands and 71 portable concession stands throughout the stadium grabbing a bite before or during the game should be a snap.

Parking
The Stadium does not offer private parking facilities. It is best to utilize the nearby Port of Cleveland Parking Lot, as it is the closest to the First Energy and STERIS Suite Entrances. Pre-paid parking may be arranged through AMPCO Parking at 216-367-7906 or 216-367-7912.

Directions

From the South
Take I-71 North or I-77 North to the East 9th Street exit
Take East 9th Street North to the lake
The Stadium will be on the left as you head North.

From the East
Take I-90 West to Route 2 West and the East 9th Street or W. 3rd Street exit
The Stadium will be on your right as you head West.

From the West
Take Route 2 East to the Lakeside exit and turn left onto West 3rd
The Stadium will be straight ahead.

  • Prepare for the weather, it could change
  • Know how to get to and from the stadium
  • Arrive early
  • Remember which parking lot you are in
  • Bring some extra cash
