Garrison Keillor is an author, columnist, musician, satirist, and radio personality. He is best known as the host and founder of the American Public Media show, A Prairie Home Companion. Keillor has also written for The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, and Salon.com. Keillor is also the host of The Writers Almanac a daily five minute program that airs on some public radio stations in the U.S.

Garrison Keillor was born in Anoka, Minnesota. He is of Norwegian and Scottish ancestry. He is a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and is currently an Episcopalian. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelors degree in English in 1966. While attending college he began his broadcasting career on the student-operated radio station, now known as Radio K. Keillor is married to violinist Jenny Lind Nilsson and they have a daughter. Keillor has been married twice before producing one son.

Keillor is the voiceover artist for Honda UKs the power of dreams campaign. In June of 2005 he started a syndicated newspaper column, which Salon.com runs.
