Being in a tough conference is never easy for an under-manned team, especially when it's in the Big East. However, Coach Norm Roberts and his St Johns Red Storm do have enough talent to play spoiler. While the Big East Tournament may not be in this year's plans, St Johns can certainly help determine who makes it there. Coach Roberts will be putting a lot of his stock in Anthony Mason, Jr., son of retired NBA player Anthony Mason.

Mason will be manning one of the forward positions while the rest of the frontline will be determined by how well the incoming players adapt. There are a couple of freshman, Ayodele Coker and Justin Burrell, who will push the incumbent starters at center and power forward. The backcourt will be played by Eugene Lawrence and Larry Wright, guards that have shown flashes of being good basketball players. If they can find some consistency, they will make a tough tandem to deal with.

If the new faces can come in and make an immediate impression and if the guards can play well for extended minutes, Mason, Jr. is good enough to turn this team into a serious spoiler, which is exactly what Coach Roberts is thinking. As a Red Storm fan, there are obviously a lot of options in your hometown.
