Overcoming the loss of first-year Coach Bob Huggins to West Virginia hasn't been the easiest thing for K-State fans to deal with, but when they stop and look at the talented roster Huggins left, the pain should subside quite easily. While new coach Frank Martin may be unproven (this is his first collegiate head coaching job), the talent level of his team should give him some room for errors...just as long as they are made in the early part of the season.
The Wildcats boast what could be one of the more talented front-lines in the nation-if not the country-with a line-up that features returning players David Hoskins, Bill Walker and newcomer Michael Beasley. When Beasley signed, he was considered one of the best freshmen in the nation. If he can mesh with Hoskins and Walker, K-State will be a load for their opponents to handle.
Unfortunately, joining the talented frontline will be a backcourt that features some unanswered questions: Will freshman guard Dominique Sutton make it to campus? If not, will Clent Stewart and Andre Gilbert be able to provide some necessary outside firepower for their talented frontline? While these questions are relevant, it shouldn't take away from looks like a promising first season for Coach Martin, especially when you consider Bill Walker's promise to end the streak of 24 straight home defeats against rival Kansas.
