Iowa Hawkeyes
The Steve Alford era at Iowa is officially over. Next up is Coach Todd Lickliter, who moved Iowa City from Butler. Unfortunately for Iowa fans, it appears as if the Butler team he left was more talented than the Iowa team he inherited. Yes, Iowa fans, it seems you are in a rebuilding mode, thanks in large part to losing players to transfers in the NBA. However, this season is not entirely lost, thanks to the presence of Tony Freeman, a veteran point guard that should make Lickliter's first season easier to bear.

Not only dose Iowa have a steady point guard, they also have a tough defensive-minded frontline with Cyrus Tate and Kurt Looby, two forwards who should also help provide some stability. When you add transfer forward David Palmer to the mix, the Hawkeyes have quality frontcourt depth, a valuable commodity in college basketball.

While the roster isn't overflowing with talent, there is enough for Iowa to be a tough match-up for all of the Big Ten teams on their schedule. If Lickliter is given enough time, judging by his Butler successes, he should be able to restore Iowa back to the top of Big Ten conference. While rebuilding years can be difficult for fans to endure, it's also a great feeling being able to look back a few seasons from now to see how far your team has grown.
