While he hasn’t played meaningful basketball for a few years, the name “Michael Jordan” still resonates quite loudly. Whether it’s his shoes, his Charlotte Bobcats, Hanes commercials or appearing at Stanley Cup Finals games, Jordan still moves the dial like earthquakes move Richter scales. With that in mind, it’s not surprising Jordan’s choice of mustache style in a recent Hanes commercial (screencapped) was the subject of some discussion.
Jordan’s choice of facial hair style resembled another, far more infamous form of lip hair belonging to one Adolph Hitler. Thankfully, his appearance at Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals revealed the unfortunate facial hair choice had been rectified.
That is, Jordan shaved his hair lip and returned to the look most of us remember him with: a bald head and face. Thankfully, Jordan’s use of the razor rids us of any references mentioning the best basketball player ever in the same sentence as asexual despots.
