Apparently, the Cincinnati linebacker missed the “no punching” memo sent to Darius Songaila asking professional athletes to not punch others in the face. You could probably amend that to simply say, “no punching whatsoever” but I’m not sure if all of the Bengals players would get the message.
What we have is a neighborly dispute that Brooks decided to turn into a physical altercation. Did I mention the recipient of the Brooks fist was a woman?
Like I said, brilliant.
Apparently, there was a dispute between Brooks and another neighbor going on when Destiny Rosich asked them to take it elsewhere because her kids were around. And what did she allegedly get for her trouble? A blast to the face from an NFL linebacker. Completely appropriate and rational behavior you’ve begun to expect from Bengals players, no?
For his apparent actions, Brooks has been summoned to appear in a court on June 6th to answer the misdemeanor assault charges (punching a woman in the face is only a misdemeanor in Kentucky? WTF?)
In other news, the question is will the Bengals cut Brooks after they finally and mercifully ended the Chris Henry saga. Of course, as a Bengals fan, you could always look at the positives — a Brooks dismissal would probably reopen the door for a “I hope I’m reinstated” Odell Thurman.
Goodness, if the all the Bengals players would put as much effort into playing as their troublemakers do when it comes to getting into trouble, they’d be the ones flirting with a 19-0 record. Not the Patriots.
