It’s the weekend before Christmas and since we’ll be out until next Thursday, I figured a good way to kick-off the weekend would be to share some of my holiday spirit, with a great deal of help from YouTube. What follows are some vids that do a great job of expressing my Christmas wishes. Be on the lookout for stuff like Wham!, Run-DMC, South Park, and Michael Jordan (you know, because this is still a sports blog).

First off, one of my favorite Christmas songs, perhaps ever: Christmas in Hollis by Run-DMC.

Is Santa a discriminatory jerk? Well, if you spin something the right way, anyone can come out looking bad. ;)

After watching that, you should probably have some cheese to lighten the mood. Thanks George Michael!!!

OK, this next one is the very first South Park toon, titled “Jesus vs Frosty.” This little gem was created by Matt and Trey when they were still in college and if you haven’t seen it yet, it does a great job of demonstrating the potential of these four children from the small Colorado town. Who would’ve thought when people first saw this that these two would go on to become one of THE forces in modern television comedy? I bet their fellow classmates didn’t.

And finally, my gift to you. As you may or may not know, I am a huge fan of Michael Jordan. I grew up watching him and while Kobe and Lebron are great players, they lack that certain something Jordan brought to the game… at least, in my opinion. Here’s one of his awesome commercials, featuring the stylings of Mars Blackman, aka Spike Lee.

“Do you know, do you know, do you know?”

Here’s a recap of the 1988 NBA Slam Dunk competition, featuring Jordan and his main dunking rival, Dominique Williams. For those of us who can’t fly, there’s not much you can say here. Just sit back and enjoy the majestic athleticism…

Well guys and gals, this wraps up my Christmas greetings post. I hope you enjoyed the videos and I also hope you have an awesome Christmas Holiday. If you are out buying presents and would like to send some cheer my way, a brand-new 40-inch plasma TV is always nice. ;)
