According to some breaking news at ESPN, Brett Favre is planning to retire from football. Again. Apparently, Favre’s agent informed the Jets of his decision. Favre indicated he enjoyed playing New York and he had no hard feelings against any teammates that spoke out when their season ended so unceremoniously.
“Mike and Woody, as well as the entire organization, have been nothing short of outstanding,” Favre said in the e-mail. “My teammates — Thomas and Kerry included — were a pleasure to play with. Eric [Mangini] could not have been any better. I enjoyed playing for him. My time with the Jets was short, but I’m honored to be given that chance.”
The question is, is it real this time or will Favre “get that itch” to play in about three months? I wonder what the line is on him staying retired. Since football fans love betting so much, that’s the perfect solution to help get you through the offseason.
