Poor Joey Buss (NBA Finals)

Apparently, Dr. Jerry Buss couldn’t be in attendance last night — it’s either that or he didn’t feel like going down the court to be apart of the trophy presentation. Instead, Dr. Buss sent his son, Joey. Unfortunately, the younger Buss didn’t seem incredibly comfortable speaking with Stuart Scott after Commissioner Stern handed him the trophy — sans handshake — as he proceeded to give one of the worst “we just won the championship” speeches, perhaps ever. Granted, we all weren’t put on this earth for public speaking purposes, but man, you just have to be better prepared than that.
Did the Lakers win take him off guard, as if you shouldn’t be expecting a trophy presentation with a 3-1 series lead? Or was this simply a “I’m not very good at this sort of thing” demonstration? Whatever the case, for all his public speaking ills, the younger Buss had the last laugh.
How many of you accepted a championship trophy last night in front of millions and millions of viewers?

Joey Buss received one of the greatest gifts a father could give a 19 year old son. He assured that he will receive the greatest poon LA has to offer. There will be a lot of girls googling “Joey Buss” and never forget that money is make up for men
Correct you are, HillView. While everyone was making fun of his public speaking skills, me included, Joey was no doubt pimping his new-found fame with the all the lovely ladies of Southern Cal…
I went to high school with Joey Buss, he’s at least 24, probably 25 or 26. He was really shy, quiet and awkward in high school, and apparently he hasn’t changed much.
I had a business class with Joey at USC. You’re correct; he is at least 24. He was never that adept at public speaking but who cares! Lakers won the championship and he may be an owner one day! Probably gonna be the last time he’ll be giving victory speeches though.
uh…THIS is what all the hoopla is about? This guy spoke for about 30 seconds! Geez, people must be bored…
he’s married, btw
He’s not 19, he’s 25 and Married, so no LA’s finest poon for him either. The speech was pretty bad tho.
