Pick A Side, Tiger (NBA Finals)
Tiger Woods evidently doesn’t want to be a lightening rod in the upcoming NBA Finals. He’s an acknowledged Lakers fans, but living in Orlando, he’s become a Magic fan, as well as a season ticket holder. He’s been documented numerous times throughout Orlando’s run, as TNT’s cameras didn’t hesitate to show his face when they doing crowd shots. Hell, it’s Tiger Woods, so that’s reason enough. With that in mind, Tiger’s avoided picking a winner when he wrote about the Finals in his newsletter:
“I’m really torn about the NBA finals,” he wrote in his monthly newsletter. “I grew up a die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fan, but have season tickets to Orlando Magic games. Hopefully, it will be a great series.”
I think I’m being judicious when I quote Billy and the Boingers here, “Middle of the road, man it stinks…” Come now, Tiger. Politically correctness and sports don’t go to well together when it comes to picking a winner. Have your allegiances for the Lakers changed? Are you smitten with Superman and don’t want your LA friends to know? Or are you worried about facing some backlash in Amway Arena?
Woods says he is torn, but what side got the bigger tear? Orlando or LA? I know where I’m leaning, but I’ll get to that tomorrow. Back to Tiger — if Obama can pick a winner, so can you.
