For the one or two Cleveland fans who didn’t want to accept the truth — not sure if there were any, but still — seeing LeBron James dunk in another team’s uniform should be the final act in accepting the truth, however painful it may be. This, clearly, is just the first of many, but my goodness, if that’s the kind of defense the Heat are going to face on a night-in, night-out basis during regular season play, eclipsing Chicago’s 72-win total could very well be possible.

I’m curious, however, about how well Wade and James will digest playing in front of a not-full lower arena. Yes, it was only a preseason game, but considering the hype surrounding the new Heat, seeing a lower arena with available seats is a little surprising.

I guarantee you that wouldn’t have been the case in Cleveland, regardless of the game’s meaning. Perhaps South Beach is just too cool to go to preseason NBA games.

If LeBron’s dunk was any indication, it was their loss.
