LeBron Joins Twitter, Followers Flock
The King of NBA Basketball has joined the rank and file of the Twitter universe, and while there isn’t anything at all on the kingjames account, it’s picking up followers at an exponential rate. As a quick, little test, I took two screenshots of LeBron’s Twitter account, separated by one minute. In the time it took me to hit “Print Screen,” twice, James’ followers jumped from 35,777 to 36,440.
That’s almost a thousand more followers in less than a minute. I don’t think even Britney Spears picked up followers that quickly back when she was a relevant figure of society. Here are those screenshots.

As you can see, the last screenshot was taken at 12:42 central time. It’s been about 11 minutes since the last measurement, so lets see what we have now:
That means the account picked up close to 10,000 followers in less than 20 minutes. I think it’s safe to say people want to know where James is going to play basketball next season.
It’s been about two hours since this was posted, and when it initially hit, LeBron’s Twitter had over 44,000 followers. That total now stands at 78,960. That’s over 30 thousand followers in two hours. And yet, the kingjames Twitter account has not “tweeted” one damn thing. That has to be some sort of record for a Twitter account without any content.
