Chris Paul Explodes Against Chicago
After a moderately subpar game against Detroit on Sunday, CP3 reminded us the MVP discussion is long from being over. While many are content to concede the award to Lebron or Kobe, the face of the New Orleans franchise continues to be just as dominant while keeping the Hornets right in the thick of things in the Western Conference.
Last night’s performance against the Bulls demonstrates this.
As the Hornets were beating the Bulls 108-97, Paul scored 37 points (on 15-21 shooting), 13 assists and just for giggles, four rebounds and three steals. Oh yeah, he only turned the ball over twice in 42 minutes of play. Not bad for a player that touches the ball EVERY TIME the Hornets are on offense.
I wouldn’t be surprised if CP3 actually runs the Hornets offense while he’s on the bench as well.
In other NBA news, the Spurs lost another one (4th in a row) to the Celtics on St. Paddy’s Day and have fallen to the sixth position in the Western Conference. Speaking of St. Patrick’s Day, apparently, having your team switch to an alternate green jersey isn’t the best of ideas. All of the teams that made the switch last night, lost.
Rounding out your evening in the NBA:
Utah – 96, Toronto – 79
Atlanta – 105, Washington – 96
Indiana – 110, New York – 98
Memphis – 98, Charlotte – 80 (EIGHTY POINTS? Come one Mike, you can get better players than that.)
Minnesota – 99, LA Clippers – 90 (TIMBERWOLVES WIN, TIMBERWOLVES WIN!!!)
