Just ask Purdue’s Chris Kramer after his schnoz got in the way of Manny Harris’ clearing out elbow. Harris was ejected, even though the intent was to create space, and not to crush Kramer’s face. Apparently, Purdue coach Matt Painter allowed Kramer go back in the game, even though he got knocked out. Over at FanHouse, the issue of Kramer’s return is being discussed because the potential brain trauma being knocked out can cause.

Evidently, Painter allowed Kramer to make his own decision about returning to the game, and that’s where the issue lies. Is this a “safety first” issue or should coaches allow their players to self-diagnose? For what it’s worth, Purdue won the game and the Big Ten officials issued a warning about rough play.
