Faith Hill, a country music star, is known for her commercial success and for her marriage to country singer Tim McGraw. Faith Hill had the opportunity to open for country superstar Tim McGraw in 1996 and actually went on to marry him in October of 1996 and since has had three daughters.
Faith Hill's debut album was in 1993, "Take Me As I Am." In 1995, her second album was released, "It Matters to Me" and was yet another success. The title track became her fourth number one single. She then began her tour with Tim McGraw in 1996.
Hill's 1998 album, "Faith" moved her towards the pop sound. "This Kiss" became a number one country hit and went to number seven on the pop charts. In 2000, she signed an endorsement with Cover Girl and released "Breathe." This album became one of the biggest albums of 2000 and was the number one pop airplay song in 2000. The album won three Grammy Awards including Best Country Album. In 2002, Hill released another Grammy Award winning album "Cry," selling more than 3 million copies.
"Mississippi Girl" was her eighth song to reach number one. It was released in 2005 from her "Fireflies" album. The second single from the album reached the top five of the country charts, "Like We Never Loved At All," a duet with husband Tim McGraw. She and McGraw won a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for their duet. The "Fireflies" album has sold more than 2 million copies in the U.S. and has gone double platinum.
Tim McGraw, a world famous country music star, is married to country music singer Faith Hill and is the son of baseball player Tug McGraw.
McGraw signed with Curb Records in 1990, but didn't receive his first hit until 1992 with "Welcome to the Club" from his debut album, "Tim McGraw." He had a couple of hits off of this album in 1993, "Memory Lane" and "Two Steppin Mind." It was his second album release in 1994 "Not a Moment Too Soon" that gave McGraw his place in country music history. This album became the best-selling country album of 1994 and the single, "Indian Outlaw" became McGraw's first top ten country single. He even won Academy of Country Music Awards for Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist in 1994.
In 1995, "All I Want" was released. This album sold over 2 million copies and reached the top five on the Billboard 200. The leadoff single, "I Like It, I Love It" reached number one on the country charts. In 1996, Tim McGraw toured this album with Faith Hill as his opening act. This resulted in the most successful country tour of the year. With this kind of chemistry it is not surprising the two singers were married in October of 1996 and now have three daughters.
In 1997, "Everywhere" was released and sold more than 4 million copies. "It's Your Love" a duet with Faith Hill reached number one on country charts and became the most played single in the history of the Billboard country charts.
In 1999, "A Place in the Sun," album sold more than 3 million copies and was a huge success. By the end of '99 McGraw had surpassed Garth Brooks as the most popular country male singer in the nation. A milestone to prompt the release his "Greatest Hits" album in 2000. He and Hill also began their first Soul2Soul tour and made it the leading country tour of 2000.
In 2001, "Set This Circus Down" was released and had four number one hits. Then in 2002, McGraw recorded the album "Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors" with his tour band "The Dancehall Doctors." His next release was in 2004 with "Live Like You Were Dying." In late 2004, his duet with rapper Nelly "Over and Over" became a crossover hit.
During the 2005 NFL season McGraw sang a version of "I Like It, I Love It" every week during the season. Each week the lyrics would be different and would reflect plays from Sundays games-the song would be played during halftime of Monday Night Football.
Although Tim and Faith met on tour together in 1996, the Soul2Soul tour was their first joint production in 2000. Being such a successful event, Tim and Faith went on their second joint tour, Soul2Soul II in 2006. Even more successful than the first, the duo decided on an encore with the Soul2Soul 2007 tour. Even though each tour has been more successful than the previous Tim stated on Good Morning America that this would probably be their last duo tour.
