Josh Groban, an American singer is known for his baritone voice. His style ranges from classical to pop. In late 1998, 17 year old Groban was introduced to Grammy winning producer/arranger David Foster by his vocal coach. Groban began working for Foster as a rehearsal singer. He attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and went on to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. After only one year in the music department at Carnegie Mellon he left when he was offered a recording contract at Warner Bros. Records through David Foster’s own 143 Records imprint. Groban’s first album focused on his classical side with songs like “Gira Con Me” and “Alle Luce Del Sole.” After being picked up by 143 Records Groban performed “There For Me” with Sarah Brightman on her 2000-01 La Luna Tour and made his recording debut by singing “For Always” with Lara Fabian on the A.I.: Artificial Intelligence soundtrack. At this time he also participated in many benefit shows and even picked up a role on Ally McBeal. His debut album was released in November of 2001 and over the next year it went from gold to double-platinum.

In February of 2002, Groban performed “The Prayer” with Charlotte Church at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics and by November he had his own PBS special. His second album, Closer, was released the following year in November. Two months after the album was released it went from 11 to one on the Billboard charts. He performed “Remember Me” on the Troy soundtrack and “Believe” on The Polar Express soundtrack. He released his third album, Awake, in November of 2006.
