The Dave Matthews Band was created in 1991. Dave Matthews brought in drummer Carter Beauford, saxophonist LeRoi Moore, 16-year-old musical prodigy bassist Stefan Lessard, keyboard player Peter Griesar (who left the band in a couple of years), and violinist Boyd Tinsley. Their first performance was on May 11, 1991. Local weekly gigs followed and soon their popularity rose. The clubs started to get packed and the tours started covering more venues. In November of 1993 they released their first album, "Remember Two Things." In 1994 they recorded their first RCA record and then they headed out for tour. In 1995 they released "Under the Table and Dreaming". "Crash" was released in 1996 and they toured through 1997. Also, in 1997 the band released a double-disc album "Live at Red Rocks 8-15-95." In 1998, RCA released the third album for them "Before These Crowded Streets" and in 1999 Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds released an acoustic performance. The band spent much of 2000 on tour and produced another album "Everyday" that was released in February of 2001. In 2001, they again toured selling out all of their shows and released all of their videos from 1994-2001. In October of 2001 they released "Live in Chicago 12-19-98" and then regrouped in 2002 to release "Busted Stuff." After a very successful tour the band released "Live at Folsom Field, Boulder CO."

In 2004 the Dave Matthews Band released more albums than any previous year. "Stand Up" was released in May of 2005 and debuted at #1. The band toured briefly in the fall of '05 and had great success. The band then returned to the studio in 2006 with plans for a winter album release, although not missing their annual summer tour.

As of their 2007 tour announcement, this latest album has not been released. Although during their short February European tour they introduced a new song titled, "Corn Bread" thought to be part of this album. The annual Dave Matthews Band Tour Schedule will continue in 2007 with the studio album release now scheduled for July.
