Sheryl Crow is a blues/rock singer, songwriter, bassist, and guitarist. She has won eight Grammy Awards throughout her career.

Crow graduated from the University of Missouri where she majored in music education with a concentration in piano. She went on to become an elementary school music teacher in a suburb of St. Louis. She taught during the day and was able to sing in bands on the weekends. After a couple of years of teaching she was introduced to a local musician/producer who helped her by using her in his advertising jingles. She did a spot for a St. Louis department store, McDonald's, and Toyota. This success made Crow think that she should pursue music full time. Crow moved to LA in 1986 and eventually found work as a back-up vocalist for Michael Jackson on his "Bad" tour. After the tour ended in 1989 she sang back-up for Don Henley.

In 1990, she had the attention of A&M Records which led to her debut album which is unreleased. The "Tuesday Night Music Club" was her actual debut album being that it was released. In 1993, she appeared in the New Faces section of Rolling Stone magazine. Her album produced her first single, "Leaving Las Vegas" and her smash hit "All I Wanna Do" was released in the spring of 1994 from the album. In 1996, Crow released her self-titled second album which was on the cover of Rolling Stone. The debut single from the album was "If it Makes you Happy", other singles included "A Change Would Do You Good", "Home", and "Everyday is a Winding Road". In 1997, her them song to Tomorrow Never Dies was released.

In 1998, Crow released her third album, "The Globe Sessions", which produced "My Favorite Mistake". In 2002, she released "C'mon, C'mon" which produced hits like "Soak up the Sun" and "Steve McQueen". In 2003, her greatest hits compilation "The Very Best of Sheryl Crow" was released. This album featured some of her hit singles and some new tracks too, including "The First Cut is the Deepest".

In 2005, Crow released "Wildflower" which debuted at number two. This album included "Good is Good" and "Always on your Side". Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer in late February of 2006 and performed her first concert since her diagnosis in June 2006 at the Murat Theater in Indianapolis, Indiana.
